We carefully select our tour directors. Our hiring requirements are very stringent. We are looking for the following traits in our tour directors: energetic, friendly, intelligent, well spoken, honest, fun loving, prepared, organized, team-player, “environmentally aware” and enthusiastic. We are looking for tour directors that go the extra mile to make our groups feel special. We carefully monitor performance and only retain tour directors with the highest customer satisfaction rating. 

The following languages are a plus when applying: French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese. We carefully match tour directors with the right programs. Please indicate what programs interest you. We offer top pay. We also pay for repositioning, offer training, and commissions. Adventure Travel West, Inc. accepts applications for the following:

SMALL GROUP TOURS - Sightseeing or hiking, hotel or camping
Requirements: Location knowledge, previous experience / guide school certified, clean driving record, experience driving 15 Pax vans, extensive outdoor leadership experience, foreign languages as needed, first aid / CPR certified, cooking skills, excellent references, minimum age is 24 years but we prefer more mature candidates.

COACH TOURS - Sightseeing or hiking
Requirements: Location knowledge, previous experience / guide school certified foreign languages as needed, outdoor background if applicable, first aid / CPR certified, excellent references.
